NEWS

Virat Kohli scores a century in each innings on Test captaincy debut: only Greg Chappell has achieved this (against WI in 1975).

Kohli and David Warner provide the 5th instance of 2 twin century-makers in the same Test: Warner is also the 5th batsman (after Walcott, Gavaskar, de Silva and Ponting) to hit twin centuries twice in a calendar year.

Nathan Lyon's best match figures of 12-286 are the best by an Australia against India since Bruce Reid in 1991.

New Zealand record their highest ever innings in Tests: 690 against Pakistan, eclipsing their previous mark of 680-8d made against India just 9 months ago. (List)

Phillip Hughes (1988-2014).
Farewell and rest in peace.
